Translation and Multilingual Communication

The purpose of the third year of Bachelor’s Degree is to learn how to communicate in a professional context in at least two foreign languages and to acquire the fundamental principles of translation and terminology.

At the end of the Bachelor’s Degree, students can, amongst others, translate technical documents into French, make specialized glossaries of terms and understand the principles of website creation.

The year ends with an internship lasting at least six weeks and students take part in a Tradutech session with the M1. Professional conferences complete the courses.

Students in third year can go abroad for one or two semesters thanks to the ERASMUS exchange program. This opportunity enables them to master a foreign language and to enrich on professional and personal levels.

With the first year of MA, students deepen their skills in specialized and technical translation, in terminology and in proofreading.
They are also introduced to technical writing and project management. Software tools also play a key role in the formation with courses about websites localization, infographics, DTP, CAT and macros.

Students take part in a Tradutech session with the M2 during the first semester, and with the L3 during the second, which enables them to discover every steps of a translation project and to use every skills acquired in class.

The year ends with an internship lasting at least three months and professional conferences complete the courses.

All the students follow the same courses during the first semester. It enables them to deepen and to strengthen the knowledge acquired during the first year. Project management and team work are particularly important.

Students can then chose to specialize in translation or technical writing.

The year ends with a six-month-long internship and professional conferences complete the courses. Once graduated, students are completely prepared and able to enter the work world.
