Any student is entitled to enrolment when at least 120 ECTS credits are validated during the first two years of the LEA Bachelor’s Degree.

You can submit your registration form when you have completed at least two years of Graduate, validating preferably the following skills:

• Understanding, speaking and writing in English, German or Spanish or Italian or Chinese* or Portuguese* or Russian*
  (* courses are open when there is enough participants)
• Mastering French, either as a native language, or minimum at level C1 of the Common European Framework of competencies
• Mastering translation into French
• Mastering an office software suite, e.g. MS Office Suite

Applicants wanting to join the training have to request for an admission:

• online, from the Espace Campus France space if that service exists in your residency country.
• by mail adressed to the “Scolarité de l’UFR Langues de l’Université Rennes 2” with a resume and a selfaddressed, stamped envelope attached.

Once your admission request is validated, you can register before the deadline fixed by the Student Affairs Department of the University

• If you come from a French University (except for Rennes 2):
  • Send a request to the Student Affairs Department of the UFR Langues.
  • Send a transfer requestion to your university.

The following students are entitled to enrolment:

• Holder of an Undergraduate Degree from a Translator School

You can access the Master’s Degree by validating your studies if you hold a French Licence or a Bachelor’s Degree and if you are able to prove the following skills:

• Justify a minimum of level C1 of the Common European Framework of competencies in English, German or Spanish or Italian
• Mastering French, either as a native language, or minimum at level C1 of the Common European Framework of competencies
• Mastering translation into French
• Mastering an office software suite, e.g. MS Office Suite

The first year of the Master is obtainable by a Validation of Prior Professional Experience (VAE). For more information, contact the office “Service de formation continue” in Rennes 2: REVA.

• If you hold one of the following diploma:
• a diploma not written in French, we advise you to have it translated by a sworn translator.
• a universitary diploma not coming from Europe, contact the LEA office.

• Mastering perfectly English and French – any other foreign language is accepted but not mandatory.
  If you are not a French speaker, you will need to prove that you master French.
• Knowing the principles, methods and requirements needed in the professional environment of technical translation
• Mastering an office software suite, e.g. MS Office Suite
• Being able to use efficiently at least one CAT (Computer Assisted Translation) Software
• Knowing the basis of HTML and XML languages

Who can access the second year of Master?

• Any student who gratuated after a 4 years training in translation in a recognized graduate school or a university.
• Anyone in continuing education who graduated from the first year of Master by justifying a professional experience in the Translation, Localization and Multilingual and Multimedia Communication Professions.

What are the admission criteria?

• The level of competency in translation, IT and technical writing, proven by the scores of the first year of Master, the admission tests or professional experience.
• Having completed an internship at the end of the first year of Master in the fields of Translation, Localization or Multilingual and Multimedia Communication.
• Skills attested by the commitment in group projects or professional experience.

From midst of March, every candidate, including the students from MTLC2M, has to send an application online.
You have to send back the folder edited online with all the supporting documents before XX May 2016 (as evidenced by the date as postmarked).

If you are preselected, you will receive a test. The secretary will send you the files of the test once your application has been selected and accepted.

• You will have to translate and/or proofread 4 to 5 technical texts, from English into French.
• You will have 7 full days to complete these tests as if you were a translator: you can work at home or at work and you can use any tool or any ressources.
• You will also have to take an IT test.
• If you want to apply for the Technical Writing course in Master 2, you will have to take a test in technical writing.
• Be careful to meet all the deadlines and to send your work by email.

If you pass the tests, your application will be assessed by a board of examiners from Rennes 2.

At the end of June, you will receive the decision from the board of examiners. No correction or comment will be given about the tests.
