Cost : 590€ (courses + cultural activities)

Eligible students :

  • All students, ages 18 and above.
  • All levels, including beginners.

An online test takes place in May to determine the student’s linguistic skills.

  • The fees for the courses and the accomodation (if needed) must be paid in full online .

Classes: 19 hours of class time per week
Small groups (15 students maximum).

The full program, including both class time and cultural activities, will take up approximately 30 hours per week.

Students will receive a detailed course certificate at the end of the session.

This course is worth 7 ECTS credits, which may be transferred to the student’s home university.

Cultural Activities and Visits

Rennes visit with certified guides: you will discover the city of Rennes, its history, its numerous cafés and medieval streets.
• Crêperie restaurant: you will share a traditional Breton meal (cakes, pancakes and cider) in an authentic place.
• Sport and nature: Canal St-Martin: a nice walk along the Ille-et-Rance canal. The afternoon will end with a snack in the park.
Les Tombées de la nuit Festival: We will propose several activities of this festival of street arts that will animate the city.
• Visit the Lices Market: You’ll discover one of the biggest open air markets in France
• Petanque: you’ll try to play the french national sport in the park downtown.
• Wine and cheese: you’ll taste wine and cheese in a restaurant.


The university is close to the center of Rennes, less than 20 minutes walking, or by metro in 5 minutes (Villejean-University station). The railroad (SNCF) and bus stations are directly connected via metro to the University.

Rennes is one hour from the beaches of Saint-Malo and Mont-Saint-Michel, 1h30 from Paris by train.

Student can obtain an accomodation in a student housing.

Student housing :

  • one 9 m2 room
  • one person bed (sheets and blankets included)
  • table, chair, shelf, sink, wardrobe
  • shower and toilets are in the room (towels are NOT provided)
  • kitchen in the corridor (kitchenware not provided)

Other services : laundromat, cafeteria…

Price : 22€/night via CIREFE, starting from 11€/night directly on Bed and CROUS website.

Please note that the room fees must be paid on arrival

The University Restaurants and cafeterias are open all summer (meal 3,30€)
Theres is also a shopping area nearby.
